Duncan W. Glaholt, CArb, is the principal of Glaholt ADR Inc., specializing in independent mediation and arbitration services tailored for the construction industry. With a distinguished career in construction law since 1979, Duncan has been instrumental in resolving disputes across the energy, transportation, infrastructure, and resource sectors, both within Canada and on an international scale.

As an active contributor to the reform of construction legislation, Duncan recently completed the Ontario 2024 Ontario Construction Act Review. Since 2004, he has focused on mediating and arbitrating construction and infrastructure disputes, earning a reputation for guiding dispute review, dispute avoidance, and combined dispute boards to successful resolutions.

Duncan is the author, co-author, and editor of key reference materials on construction law and alternative dispute resolution, including his recent work “Construction Dispute Mediation: Theory and Practice,” published by Lexis-Nexis in 2024. His academic contributions include his role as an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto.

In recognition of his significant contributions to the field, Duncan has received the Ontario Bar Association Award of Excellence in Construction Law and the lifetime achievement award from the Toronto Construction Association.
