Pavan Jawanda is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s Business Law Group in Vancouver. With significant experience in both Canadian and international markets, Pavan specializes in advising public and private companies, as well as private equity firms, on a wide range of corporate legal matters. His practice is primarily focused on domestic and international M&A transactions, capital markets, corporate finance, venture capital, and general corporate and commercial transactions.

Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Pavan was a lawyer with a leading international law firm based in New York, serving in its New York office from 2008 to 2012 and its Hong Kong office from 2012 to 2014. In addition to his extensive legal background, Pavan is also a Certified Public Accountant, bringing a multifaceted approach to complex business law issues.

Pavan has provided legal counsel on corporate transactions originating in over 25 countries, with notable expertise in cross-border matters involving Canada, the US, China, India, and other regions across Asia. His international experience offers clients seamless guidance in navigating local and global legal landscapes.

Beyond his professional practice, Pavan is the founder of a pro bono initiative in partnership with community organizations, dedicated to providing legal assistance to asylum seekers from conflict zones, particularly those with young children.
