Shahir Guindi is the outgoing National Co-Chair of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, one of Canada’s preeminent law firms, with a distinguished record on the firm’s Partnership Board. As a seasoned partner in the Corporate Group, Shahir brings over 30 years of legal experience, specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), private equity, and corporate finance. He previously served as Managing Partner of the Montreal office for seven years before stepping into his national leadership role.

Shahir is recognized for his exceptional advisory skills in private equity and venture capital, regularly guiding funds through complex domestic and cross-border portfolio investments, divestitures, and fund formations. He acts for several of Canada’s most successful technology and biotechnology companies, providing strategic legal counsel designed to maximize growth and protect interests.

In addition to his legal practice, Shahir Guindi holds influential positions on the boards of various organizations, including Jubilant Draxis Pharma. He previously served on the Board of Directors for GFL Environmental and dedicated eight years to the Business Development Bank of Canada. Notably, Shahir was Chair of the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal from 2019 to 2021 and Co-Chair of Réseau Capital, Quebec’s private equity and venture capital association, from 2010 to 2013.
