Stuart M. Olley is a senior partner in Gowling WLG’s Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Private Equity Groups, based in Calgary. With a focus on capital market transactions for both public and private enterprises, Stuart advises clients on mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, private equity, and regulatory compliance. He brings a wealth of expertise assisting issuers and underwriters across a broad spectrum of industries, including oil & gas, mining, real estate, and technology.

Internationally, Stuart has significant experience handling financings and merger transactions—including investments and acquisitions—in regions such as Africa, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia. Domestically, he is well-versed in supporting clients in the extractive sector with complex financings, business combinations, takeover bids, restructuring transactions under the CCAA and ABCA, and corporate governance matters.

Stuart previously served as a member of the Securities Advisory Council of the Alberta Securities Commission.
