Syll Kushner is a distinguished partner at Gowling WLG’s Toronto office, serving in the Real Estate, Environmental, and Urban Development Department. With a legal practice dedicated to the acquisition and sale of all types of commercial properties, Syll offers comprehensive expertise in commercial real estate development, financing, asset and property management, and leasing.

Known for his skill in resolving complex contaminated land disputes, Syll regularly counsels clients on managing environmental risks associated with corporate transactions. His in-depth experience includes identifying and resolving environmental liability issues and negotiating contractual clauses related to environmental matters in commercial deals.

Syll acts on behalf of both domestic and international investors in acquiring and disposing of commercial property assets, including portfolios and single properties. His practice also involves representing landlords and tenants in the creation and negotiation of lease documentation, managing lease strategies, and resolving leasing disputes. In addition, he advises pension funds and institutional investors on structuring investment vehicles for real estate opportunities.
