W. Donald Goodfellow, KC, CArb, is a nationally recognized authority in construction law, with decades of experience advising on liens, tendering, litigation, and arbitration matters. Serving clients across Alberta, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, and Yukon, Mr. Goodfellow is an established leader in the Canadian legal landscape.

Called to the Bar in Alberta (1965), Northwest Territories (1978), British Columbia (1980), and Yukon (1992), Mr. Goodfellow has been appointed King’s Counsel (KC) since 1983 and is a Chartered Arbitrator with the ADR Institute of Canada. He has served as Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta and is the National Treasurer of the Canadian Bar Association.

Mr. Goodfellow’s career is distinguished by his leadership roles, including Past National Chair of the Construction Law Section (CBA), Honorary Member of the Canadian Bar Association, Board member of both the Canadian Bar Insurance Association and ADRIA, and President of the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society (AAMS). He is a Chartered Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America and a Founding Fellow and Past Governor of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.

His legal expertise is frequently sought for expert testimony in construction-related disputes before organizations such as the Law Society of Alberta, Quebec Superior Court, and the American Arbitration Association. He is a renowned speaker and presenter at leading industry conferences nationwide.

Recognition of Mr. Goodfellow’s exceptional service includes membership in the Bertha Wilson Honour Society (Dalhousie School of Law) and listings as a top construction law lawyer by The Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide, Best Lawyers in Canada, International Who’s Who of Construction Lawyers, and Martindale-Hubbell, maintaining an AV peer review rating for over 30 years.
