Andrea’s practice covers all areas of intellectual property (prosecution, dispute resolution). Bar certified in Ontario, Quebec, ( Canada) and Massachusetts (U.S.) Andrea chaired the IP specialist certification committee of the Law Society, and chaired the IP Year in Review for over a decade. Select litigation mandates include representation before the Supreme Court of Canada, (precedents fair dealing and communication over the internet) the Federal Court of Appeal ( trademark use and cancellation), the Copyright Board and the Trademark Opposition Board. Andrea is recognized as a mediator by INTA, IPIC and WIPO. Patent drafting focuses on medical device technology; technical background biology. Appointed by the Federal Government to a SAGIT (business services sector), and to the Information Highway Advisory Council (copyright) Andrea worked for the Department of Justice, has lectured at Stanford University, Osgoode Hall Law School ( LL.M. program), OCAD University, and published frequently, receiving the Charles Seton award (CSUSA), Duff Rinfret Scholarship (Department of Justice), and Professional Development Award (Law Society of Ontario).
