Alexandre W. Buswell is a partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s Montreal office and a Fellow of the American College of Labour and Employment Lawyers. With a specialization in complex employment and labour litigation, Alexandre advises on matters involving the dismissal of employees and executives, as well as the enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation restrictive covenants. He also provides strategic counsel on collective labour relations and represents employers before arbitration panels, labour relations boards, and tribunals.
Alexandre has extensive experience in high-profile litigation, having appeared before the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Before joining McCarthy Tétrault, he led practice groups at two other national law firms and served on their National and Regional Management Committees.
An active member of the American Employment Law Council, Alexandre has been recognized for his expertise and leadership in labour and employment law. Called to the Bar of Quebec in 1997, he continues to provide trusted advice and effective advocacy for employers in complex and sensitive disputes.
