Alyssa Tomkins is a distinguished bilingual partner at Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office and an integral part of the Advocacy Group. Renowned for her work in public law, corporate/commercial litigation and arbitration, as well as appeals and judicial reviews, she has represented clients across various jurisdictions, including the Ontario courts, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, British Columbia Supreme Court, British Columbia Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
An accomplished educator, Alyssa serves as an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she imparts her knowledge in administrative law. Her commitment to legal education extends to her decade-long tenure teaching appellate advocacy at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Common Law, where she also coached the Laskin Moot team, specializing in constitutional and administrative law.
Alyssa is the former chair of The Advocates’ Society Regulatory and Administrative Law Practice Group. She also has the distinguished experience of clerking for the Honourable Michel Bastarache at the Supreme Court of Canada.
