Counsel to the firm’s Toronto office, Candace M. Pallone boasts extensive experience in all aspects of OTC derivative transactions. Her expertise spans across the regulation and collateralization of transactions for all asset classes, including credit, fixed income, interest rate, commodity, foreign exchange, and equity. She also handles central clearing of OTC derivatives and repo transactions.

Recent pivotal transactions include working extensively on behalf of the Canadian Market Infrastructure Committee concerning the regulation of OTC derivatives in Canada and acting for Canadian banks in covered-bond transactions. Candace provides netting and insolvency opinions on OTC derivatives and repurchase transactions and is skilled in structuring mortgage repurchase and warehouse facilities.

As a frequent speaker at derivatives conferences for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association and Osgoode Hall Law School Professional Development, Candace shares her extensive knowledge with peers. Previously, she served as a senior counsel with Royal Bank of Canada’s Capital Markets Transactions Services Group, offering legal support in all derivative matters for nine years.

Candace held a Chartered Accountant designation until her retirement in 1988 and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1994.
