Chris Hersh is a seasoned business law partner based in Toronto, serving as the Canadian head of Norton Rose Fulbright’s antitrust and competition practice. He offers strategic counsel to clients on a wide range of competition law aspects, including mergers and acquisitions, criminal matters, abuse of dominance, marketing and advertising, as well as pricing and distribution challenges.
Chris also collaborates with international clients to secure approvals under the “net benefit,” national security, and cultural sector review provisions of the Investment Canada Act. His regulatory and transactional expertise is complemented by an active competition litigation practice, representing clients in matters before the Competition Tribunal, trans-border criminal investigations/prosecutions, and price-fixing class actions.
Beyond his legal practice, Chris regularly writes and speaks on competition issues both in Canada and internationally. His academic contributions include serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law and guest lecturing at both the Osgoode Hall Law School LLM and Queen’s University economics program. Moreover, he remains actively involved with the CBA competition law, the ABA antitrust section, and the IBA Competition.
