Colin Perry has a business law practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and reorganization, and corporate finance. He collaborates with clients at various stages of development, both public and private. His principal clients include upstream oil and gas issuers and financial sponsors. Colin’s extensive experience encompasses advising buyers and targets in domestic and cross-border change of control transactions, including unsolicited offers; guiding debtors and key stakeholders through restructuring and reorganization transactions; and assisting issuers of equity, debt, and convertible securities in both public and private offerings.

He also counsels institutional investors regarding the structuring and execution of strategic investments; supports entrepreneurs in organizing new ventures; and provides expert advice to financial service firms on investment banking, advisory, and regulatory compliance mandates. Colin’s expertise extends to advising management teams and boards of directors on transactional and corporate governance matters, as well as ensuring exchange-listed or other public entities meet ongoing compliance responsibilities.

During his secondment to the Alberta Securities Commission in late 2003 and early 2004, Colin contributed to the development and advancement of several national policy initiatives of the Canadian Securities Administrators.
