Courtney has over 20 years of experience litigating disability claims from both sides of the table. Specializing in disability insurance law, her dedication to this practice area is unparalleled. After graduating from Queen’s University Law School in 2000 and articling at a leading insurance defence law firm in Toronto, Courtney served as in-house counsel for major life and health insurance companies, including Canada Life, Manulife, and OTIP.

Courtney’s primary focus is representing disabled plaintiffs, particularly those with complex “invisible conditions” like mental health and chronic issues that are challenging to prove, diagnose, and treat. Her transition from insurance defence to plaintiff-side litigation has enriched her expertise, allowing her to effectively advocate for disabled clients.
