Based in the firm’s Calgary office, Brett is one of Canada’s most prominent corporate tax planning and dispute resolution experts. He has a strong reputation across the country for his deep technical knowledge and ability to provide creative solutions to clients’ most complex challenges and transactions.

Focused on achieving the best results for clients, Brett advises on domestic and cross-border public reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions, and international tax matters. He is a member of the Counsel of the Canadian Branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA); the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF); and the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society. Brett is also a frequent lecturer on tax topics at the CTF, IFA, and the University of Calgary Law School. He is a member of the board of directors of Pro Bono Law Alberta.
