Darcy Ammerman is a co-leader of McMillan LLP’s financial services group and a member of SFNet’s Women in Secured Finance (WISF) committee. Her diverse practice focuses on complex domestic and cross-border debt financing, financial institution regulation, and “near insurance” such as extended warranties. She frequently acts as Canadian counsel on cross-border lending transactions and has been praised for her commercial sensibility and ability to work seamlessly with client teams to solve complex issues.

Her transactional experience includes asset-based lending, acquisition financing, sponsored finance, aircraft financing, debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing, and other forms of leveraged debt transactions. Darcy is a regular speaker on secured lending topics, including at the Osgoode Hall intensive short course in secured lending and debt finance, and financial institution regulation. She contributes consistently to key industry publications like Global Legal Insights – Banking Regulation and National Banking Law Review.

In the insurance area, Darcy advises on regulatory approvals, reorganizations, and ongoing compliance matters. Recognized in the IFLR1000 Financial and Corporate Guide, she continues to be a leading expert in her field.
