David Coll-Black is a partner in the Business Law Group at Goodmans LLP, with a practice that is primarily focused on corporate and securities law. David provides expert advice to public, private, and multinational companies, as well as their investors, offering guidance on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, going private transactions, public and private debt and equity financings, and corporate governance matters.

David’s notable transactions include representing Dye & Durham Limited in its initial public offering and listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange, advising on numerous follow-on public offerings, and facilitating the purchase of assets from Thomson Reuters Canada Limited. Additionally, he played a key role for Canaccord Genuity Growth II Corp. in its significant $537 million qualifying transaction with Taiga Motors Inc., and worked with Newmont Goldcorp Corporation on its US$10 billion acquisition of Goldcorp Inc., as well as guiding Searchlight Capital Partners in acquiring M&M Meat Shops.
