David Sowemimo is the Founder and Managing Lawyer at Watchmaker Law, where he provides dedicated representation for plaintiffs in personal injury cases throughout Alberta. With a specialization in serious and catastrophic injuries, David has successfully led cases involving quadriplegic, paraplegic, amputations, and multi-fatality incidents against multinational insurance companies and Crown defendants. His extensive experience with Alternative Dispute Resolutions ensures his clients achieve favorable settlements. He regularly appears at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench to advocate for his clients’ claims.

In addition to his legal practice, David Sowemimo is committed to community involvement and diversity. In 2022, he was appointed to the Edmonton Police Commission, providing crucial civilian oversight for the police service. As Chair of the Professional Standards Committee in 2023, he demonstrated notable leadership. He also established a scholarship for black law students at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law, reinforcing his dedication to fostering inclusivity.
