Davit Akman is the Chair of the Cassels Competition & Foreign Investment Group. He provides expert guidance on all facets of Canadian competition/antitrust and foreign investment review law, encompassing mergers, cartel defense, and civil matters. His experience includes the successful clearance of major multi-jurisdictional and domestic mergers across a diverse range of industry sectors.

In his distinguished career, Davit has served as counsel for private entities as well as the Commissioner of Competition in numerous cases before the Canadian Competition Tribunal. His extensive litigation experience covers class actions and other complex civil and criminal competition matters at all judicial levels in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

As the Chair of the Antitrust Law Committee of the ABA Business Law Section, Davit carries notable influence in the field. He has also held the prestigious position of clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada for Justice Louise Arbour.
