Deirdre is Co-Chair of Osler’s Regulatory, Indigenous, and Environmental practice. With a focus on energy regulatory, Indigenous, and environmental law, she offers expert advice on the regulatory and environmental facets of power, electricity, oil and gas, and other energy developments. Her services include navigating regulatory proceedings for setting rates and tariffs.

In Alberta, Deirdre provides counsel on power transmission, distribution, and generation projects and frequently represents clients before the Alberta Utilities Commission. Her extensive experience also spans the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Canada Energy Regulator, and additional regulatory bodies and tribunals, such as Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and the Alberta Environmental Appeals Board.

Deirdre’s expertise covers power transmission lines, renewable and other power generation, oil and gas wells, pipelines, oil sands developments, upgraders, gas storage, and waste disposal facilities. She is proficient in handling environmental impact assessments as required under both provincial and federal laws. Her Indigenous law practice emphasizes consultation, accommodation, and participation of Indigenous groups in significant energy projects.
