Denis Blanchette is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Montreal office, specializing in public law with a strong focus on Indigenous law, governance, the administration of justice, environmental protection, and resource development. His primary work is with the Crees of Eeyou Istchee, facilitating the implementation of key agreements such as the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (1975), the New Relationship Agreement with Canada (2008), the Agreement on Cree Nation Governance (2017), and the Eeyou Marine Region Land Claims Agreement (2010).
Denis provides expert advisory services on federal and provincial legislative reforms, government relations impacting Indigenous communities, and associated policy developments.
