Dinyar Marzban, KC

A leading family lawyer in BC, Dinyar Marzban specializes in all aspects of family law, including mediation, trial, and appellate work. Having been called to the Bar in 1982 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2004, he now focuses his practice on acting as a family law mediator, particularly in cases involving high incomes and complex financial issues.

Dinyar Marzban is esteemed for his contributions to family law reform, legal education, and pro bono work. He was one of the original authors and editors of the Family Law Sourcebook for British Columbia. In addition, he has authored numerous articles and presented at many family law conferences. His dedication extends to volunteer efforts with Access Pro Bono and Rise Women’s Legal Centre.

Dinyar initiated the Supreme Court pro bono family mediation service, chaired the Vancouver Family Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, and served on the board for Legal Aid BC from 2014 to 2020. Recognized as a fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers, he is continuously acknowledged as a leading practitioner in family law by Lexpert®, Doyle’s Guide, and Best Lawyers, which named him Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” for 2021.
