Dirk Laudan, a distinguished partner in the Firm’s Construction Group, brings extensive expertise in handling disputes related to extras claims, construction deficiencies, construction liens, construction bonds, and other contract security and surety products. With a focus on industrial projects, procurement, and insurance, Dirk offers general and transactional advice to general contractors, sureties, and other construction industry stakeholders. His practice areas also include defamation, electoral law, and lobbyist regulation.

Dirk is the co-author of the “Guide to Builders’ Liens in British Columbia” and serves on the editorial board of the “British Columbia Builders Liens Practice Manual.” His contributions include being a member of the Builders Lien Act Reform Committee of the BC Law Institute, producing BCLI Report no. 89 on the Builders Lien Act in July 2020. He has held a position on the Federal Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee for British Columbia. A seasoned speaker and publisher on construction law topics, Dirk was also a faculty member of the Osgoode Hall Certificate in Construction Law (Western Canadian Edition) program.

Dirk obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and is a proud member of the Bar of British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
