Don is Reynolds Mirth’s esteemed Construction Team leader, renowned for his comprehensive expertise in construction law. His practice is pivotal for a large international general contractor and numerous public and private owners, offering invaluable advice on construction contract delivery models, negotiation, insurance, bonding, tendering, and procurement. He also handles builders’ liens, litigation, and alternate dispute resolution.

With extensive experience in advising contractors and owners involved in mega construction projects, Don has made significant contributions to a range of power projects, including those in oil and gas, solar, wind, nuclear, and carbon capture sectors. His expertise extends to managing 100 public-private infrastructure projects, such as hospitals, penitentiaries, water treatment facilities, and transportation systems across Canada, the United States, and Australia.

Beyond his advisory role, Don has represented clients at all judiciary levels in Alberta and the Northwest Territories, and has acted as both counsel and mediator/arbitrator in mediations and arbitrations. He contributed to academia by teaching the Construction Law Course at the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta from 2002 to 2015. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of a US public company and holds the esteemed position of Fellow and former Governor of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.
