Edward N. Levitt, also known as Ned, is a distinguished partner in the firm’s Corporate Commercial Group and serves as Co-Chair of its Franchise and Distribution Law Group. With a reputation as one of Canada’s leading authorities in franchising and distribution law, Ned provides extensive legal services to Canadian and international clients across all facets of Canadian franchise, licensing, and distribution law. He has represented some of the most prominent franchises globally.

Recognized in Who’s Who Legal, The Best Lawyers in Canada, and Chambers & Partners, Ned’s expertise is widely acknowledged within the legal community. He has also earned accolades from The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in Franchise Law. A respected lecturer and prolific author, Ned has published numerous books and articles, including the acclaimed ‘Canadian Franchise Legislation’ (2001, LexisNexis).

In recognition of his contributions, Ned received the Canadian Franchise Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 and served as the association’s general counsel from 2000 to 2007. His professional affiliations include memberships in the International Franchise Association, where he serves on its International Committee, the Canadian Franchise Association, the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, and the International Bar Association.
