Elizabeth Burton leads the financial institutions and services group at Gowling WLG’s Calgary office and is a co-lead of the firm’s national ESG group. She specializes in providing strategic advice for both syndicated and bilateral financing transactions, representing a diverse range of financial institutions and corporate clients. With a robust background in financial services law, Elizabeth has facilitated financing transactions across industries such as energy, agriculture, and real estate, alongside Indigenous business ventures.

Her expertise extends to advising on cross-border financings and serving as a trusted adviser for restructuring financings, intercreditor arrangements, as well as corporate and real estate matters. Elizabeth’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in her active involvement with the firm’s national diversity and inclusion council and previous roles with the Law Society of Alberta’s equity, diversity, and inclusion advisory committee.
