Elizabeth has a general corporate practice with a focus on private equity and venture capital fund formation, as well as mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. Elizabeth acts on behalf of both fund sponsors and institutional investors in structuring domestic and international private equity funds and hedge funds while taking into account applicable regulatory considerations, including compliance with Canadian sanctions laws.

She has extensive experience organizing pooled investments in commercial real estate, venture capital, and infrastructure, as well as forming and managing mortgage investment entities. Elizabeth also advises on securities law compliance and corporate governance matters.

Prior to joining Bennett Jones, Elizabeth spent three years practicing in New York at an international, US-based law firm in the private equity fund formation group, and for two years she practiced in-house at a merchant bank in Vancouver, specializing in the management of TSX Venture Exchange listed companies.

Elizabeth has been recognized by Lexpert as one of Canada’s leading lawyers in Technology and Health Sciences. She was also Repeatedly Recommended in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the areas of Private Equity and Corporate Mid-Market.
