John Durdan is a partner in Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region office and a member of the firm’s Tech Group. His practice is divided between securities/M&A matters and technology law matters. John advises on securities law matters and has extensive experience in public equity financings, private equity and debt financings, stock option plans, and mergers & acquisitions – including domestic, international, and US-Canada cross-border transactions.

His technology law practice focuses on advising technology companies on their licensing and distribution arrangements, including SAAS/cloud arrangements, development agreements, VAR and other reseller agreements, joint ventures, and outsourcing. John also advises non-tech clients on their information technology licensing and outsourcing arrangements.

Before embarking on his legal career, John was an investment banker with a global investment bank in Toronto. He is a board member and a member of the executive committee of THEMUSEUM of Idea Transcending Objects. He has been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory since 2014.
