Greg Kanargelidis is a seasoned expert in customs, international trade, sanctions, and commodity tax law. He established his own law practice in 2022 following an impressive 33-year career at a prominent full-service firm, spending the last 26 years as partner and head of the International Trade Group.

Greg frequently represents clients on cross-border trade issues, ensuring compliance with international trade agreements such as the USMCA/CUSMA and CETA, as well as navigating export/import controls and sanctions. He is well-versed in trade remedy matters, including antidumping/subsidy investigations and appeals, and safeguards inquiries.

His customs law expertise covers all areas, including tariff classification, valuation, rules of origin, marking rules, seizures, administrative monetary penalties, and voluntary disclosures. Greg also advises clients on planning, compliance, and appeals concerning GST/HST, excise levies, and other commodity taxes.

Greg has held esteemed positions such as Chair of the CBA’s Commodity Tax, Customs, and Trade Section; Co-Chair of the Customs Law Committee of the ABA’s International Law Section; Chair of the OBA’s International Law Section; and board member of IE Canada. He is also a member of the CITT Advisory Committee and the CBSA’s BCCC Trade Compliance and Recourse Subcommittee.
