Gus Karantzoulis is a prominent lawyer and a partner in the Financial Services Group at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG). He is the regional leader of the Structured Finance and Securitization Group, recognized for his significant expertise in financial services, including lending, securitization, debt-capital markets, private equity, and project/infrastructure financing.

He offers expert advice to both Canadian and international institutional and alternative lenders, as well as borrowers, on secured and unsecured lending and other financing transactions. His experience covers senior and subordinate debt, cross-border financing, cash flow financing, syndicated loans, and secured and unsecured notes/bonds. Gus also advises issuers, note trustees, debenture trustees, and collateral agents on various debt-capital market issuances.

Gus represents stakeholders in structured finance and securitization transactions across a broad range of asset classes, particularly in commercial and residential mortgage loans, credit card receivables, and other trade receivables. Additionally, he provides strategic advice to clients, including governments, on power projects throughout Canada, and on financing Canadian public-private infrastructure projects.
