The Honourable Harry S. LaForme serves as senior counsel at Olthuis Kleer Townshend LLP and is a proud Anishinabe of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation in Ontario. Beginning his esteemed legal career at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt, Judge LaForme advanced from an articling student to become an associate, before establishing a robust private practice specializing in Indigenous law, particularly on Constitutional and Charter issues.

Judge LaForme has the distinguished honor of presenting cases at every level of the Canadian Court system. His dedication extends beyond national borders, representing Canadian Indigenous interests internationally in places such as Geneva, Switzerland, New Zealand, and in the British Parliament. In January 1994, Judge LaForme marked a significant milestone as one of the first three Indigenous judges appointed to the Superior Court of Justice, Ontario. He further made history in November 2004 as the first Indigenous judge appointed to the Ontario Court of Appeal.

After a prestigious judicial career that spanned until October 2018, Judge LaForme took up the vital role of senior counsel at OKT in December 2018. His academic journey includes graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1977 and his call to the Ontario Bar in 1979.
