Jason is a partner and the national leader of BLG’s Intellectual Property Group. He is the regional leader of the Firm’s Information Technology (IT) Group and co-chair of its Innovation Thought Leadership Committee. A multifaceted professional, Jason serves as a lawyer, patent agent, Certified Licensing Professional (CLP), and trademark agent.

His legal practice centers on technology law, particularly advising clients on large-scale and mission-critical IT transactions, health informatics, and emerging technology issues across various sectors. Jason’s patent expertise is concentrated on IT technologies, computer-related technologies, as well as software technology and business methods.

Jason is recognized in The Legal 500 Canada and The Best Lawyers in Canada, underscoring his eminent reputation in the legal field. He completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in corporate finance in 1996 from the University of Regina and acquired a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 1999 from the University of Alberta. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 2000.
