Jessica’s practice is focused on regulatory law as it pertains to resource development, transmission, and electricity market regulation. She has experience in dealing with environmental, regulatory, tariff, and Indigenous matters before the Alberta Energy Regulator, Alberta Utilities Commission, Canada Energy Regulator, and Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board, as well as judicial reviews at the Court of King’s Bench and appeals of administrative decisions before the Alberta and Federal Courts of Appeal.

Jessica regularly advises clients on regulatory implications for their businesses. She also assists clients with negotiating agreements with Indigenous groups and affected stakeholders and with obtaining regulatory approvals for large-scale projects.

Jessica’s thought leadership includes writing and speaking on renewable project development, carbon emissions regulation, CCUS, environmental assessment, hydrogen, electricity market regulation, critical minerals, geothermal power, energy storage, and more.
