Jocelyn Perreault is a seasoned partner at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, contributing his extensive expertise to the Montreal Bankruptcy & Restructuring Group. With a profound focus on insolvency matters, Jocelyn skillfully advises and represents clients in diverse domains such as informal workouts, formal restructurings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act or the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as receiverships and bankruptcies.

His comprehensive approach caters to a spectrum of parties including debtors, lenders, creditors, creditor groups, monitors, trustees, receivers, purchasers, and investors. Jocelyn’s legal acumen is well-recognized, having represented clients in first instance and appellate courts across Quebec and other provinces, and extending his advocacy to the Supreme Court of Canada and international jurisdictions like France.

Known for his insightful involvement with the World Bank, Jocelyn has contributed to the assessment of insolvency and creditors’ rights regimes globally. As of 2023, he serves as the president of the Quebec insolvency division of the Canadian Bar Association.

Jocelyn’s academic contributions include his tenure as a lecturer at the Desautels Faculty of Management of McGill University from 2002 to 2020. Complementing his legal expertise, he is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and an esteemed member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec.
