Joel Scheuerman is the leader of Tax Litigation and Controversy for Western Canada at Deloitte Legal Canada LLP. Joel practises tax law with a focus on tax litigation and tax controversy, from the audit and objection stages to litigation. He assists clients in managing complex audits and guides them in successfully resolving tax disputes, both in and out of court.
He has represented clients before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, and provincial courts. Joel also has significant experience in customs matters and represents clients in customs verifications and disputes with the Canada Border Services Agency regarding valuation for duty.
