John Fabello is the co-head of Torys’ Securities Defence Practice and co-head of the firm’s White Collar Defence and Investigations Practice. He specializes in all aspects of securities litigation and financial services regulatory matters, as well as complex corporate and commercial litigation. John expertly represents clients across Canada before securities and other financial regulators, and at all levels of court.

As lead counsel, John has achieved successful defenses for directors and officers of public and private companies, including financial institutions, in some of Canada’s most significant securities class actions such as Sino Forest and CannTrust. His vast experience is enriched by a secondment to one of Canada’s largest broker-dealers, where he managed major class action litigation and related securities regulatory matters. John is also retained as a qualified witness in Canadian securities law.

Beyond securities cases, John’s white collar defence and investigations practice includes internal investigations, crisis management, and regulatory compliance for regulated entities, offering comprehensive defense strategies across a range of financial and corporate issues.
