Joe is a Partner in the Vancouver office and practises commercial litigation and arbitration. He acts as litigation and arbitration counsel for clients in a range of industries, including mining, infrastructure, utilities, financial services, and technology. Joe is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer and has argued before all levels of court in Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Joe regularly appears in ad hoc and institutional domestic and international arbitrations as arbitration counsel and is available for appointment as arbitrator. He is a member of the ICC Canadian Arbitration Committee, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR) Neutral Panel, the American Arbitration Association’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) Panel of Arbitrators, and the Domestic and International Arbitration Panels of the Vancouver International Commercial Arbitration Centre (VanIAC).

Joe is a Chartered Arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He regularly acts as a guest instructor on advocacy and British Columbia Supreme Court practice as part of the British Columbia Law Society’s professional legal training course. Joe is also an invited member of the Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society (WCAS).
