She serves as the Global Vice Chair of Dentons’ Global Board and is a member of the Firm’s Canada Board. With profound expertise and up-to-date insights into the legal landscape, she offers strategic counsel to clients aiming to mitigate legal risks during procurement and construction. Karen provides advisory services on drafting construction contracts to preempt disputes, and during construction, she helps clients formulate proactive solutions to project challenges.

Should disputes emerge, she excels in negotiating resolutions and represents clients as counsel in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of construction claims, encompassing projects in P3, mining, and the energy sector. Her extensive role as counsel on major construction trials over the past thirty years enables her to swiftly grasp the technical nuances of construction claims and deliver innovative advice on efficient dispute resolution methods. Her vast experience covers disputes related to tenders, RFPs, construction contracts, builders’ liens, engineering concerns, and negligence claims involving architects and engineers.
