Kary B. Hargreaves’ practice encompasses all facets of wills, estate planning, estate administration, and trusts. With an extensive background in aiding clients in the seamless transfer of wealth to both family members and charitable organizations, Kary brings over 35 years of experience since being admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1982.

As an esteemed member of the legal community, Kary is affiliated with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Estate Planning Council of Edmonton, the Canadian Tax Foundation, and the Wills, Estates and Trusts and Elder Law sections of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA). His contributions include co-editing and assisting in the creation of the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA) Estate Administration Practice Manual.

Kary is a prolific author and frequent speaker on various topics related to wills and estate planning for organizations such as STEP, the CBA, LESA, along with charitable, religious groups, accountants, financial institutions, and insurance companies. Acknowledged as a leading practitioner, he was honored as Best Lawyers’ Edmonton Trusts and Estates “Lawyer of the Year” in 2017 and 2011. Additionally, Kary was appointed King’s Counsel in 2012.
