Kerri Lui is a distinguished partner in McCarthy Tétrault’s Business Law Group and Power Group in Toronto. Her legal expertise focuses on general corporate transactional matters, with a keen emphasis on projects in the energy and defence sectors. Kerri provides expert advice to acquirers, joint ventures, investors, and developers in the power sector, guiding them through private mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance issues, procurements, and project agreements.

She has substantial experience advising both Canadian and international borrowers and financial institutions in secured lending and project finance transactions. Kerri’s extensive work spans diverse power generation projects including wind, solar, energy storage, gas generation, biomass, hydro, nuclear, and district energy, along with transmission projects. Notably, she acted as lead counsel to NextBridge for the financing of the East-West Tie Transmission Line and represented developers in transactions relating to recent Ontario IESO capacity procurements.
