Krista Johanson is a partner in BLG’s Vancouver office, focusing her practice on construction, engineering, and surety disputes. An experienced litigator, Krista represents clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and participates in both domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings. She has successfully served as lead counsel at trials in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and as appellate counsel in both British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

Her expertise has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada and Benchmark Canada. Krista is also featured in the Benchmark Litigation Canada’s “40 & Under Hot List” and acknowledged as a CLEBC ‘Rising Star’ for her notable contributions to BC Continuing Legal Education.

Krista completed her JD at the University of British Columbia in 2009, earning multiple prizes for outstanding academic achievements including the Carswell Prize for highest standing in first-year law and several others. She was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 2011 and the Saskatchewan Bar in 2019.
