Laurie’s practice is dedicated to labour law, where she consistently handles complex labour issues before administrative tribunals and courts. As a skilled advocate, Laurie focuses exclusively on labour relations, representing industrial, public sector, private sector, and construction trade unions. Her expertise includes appearances before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Grievance Settlement Board, and private arbitration panels.

With extensive knowledge in industrial relations, Laurie expertly manages acquiring and maintaining bargaining rights, handling unfair labour practices, and navigating discipline and discharge grievances. She skillfully addresses human rights issues, employment standards, and occupational health & safety concerns. Additionally, Laurie is proficient in workplace safety and insurance, collective bargaining, and injunction proceedings.

Laurie serves as the union side co-Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board Advisory Committee and is frequently invited to speak on labour relations matters. From 2015 to 2017, she shared her expertise as an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, where she taught the upper year JD Collective Bargaining Law Course.
