Mark Morrison is the National Practice Group Leader of the Business Crimes, Investigations & Compliance group. He specializes in leading international internal investigations and defending clients against government investigations and charges related to white-collar crime, anti-corruption, and regulatory enforcement matters. Mark has been instrumental in several of Canada’s foremost anti-corruption enforcement cases. His expertise was pivotal when serving as independent counsel to the Board of Directors during Canada’s largest CFPOA internal investigation.

In recognition of his capabilities, Mark was appointed the Independent Compliance Monitor for SNC-Lavalin following a Probation Order by the Quebec Court due to charges of fraud in Libya. In an additional capacity, he was named Independent Compliance Monitor in Canada’s first Remediation Agreement, exclusively overseeing a separate monitorship of SNC-Lavalin.

Mark extends his expertise on a pro bono basis, having trained prosecutors and enforcement officials in Zimbabwe, and provided expert testimony to the Canadian Senate on Canada’s new Remediation Agreement legislation. Beyond this, he serves on the Independent Investigations Advisory Board for a leading global mining company, guiding and supervising international internal investigations.
