Matthew Cumming is the managing partner of McCarthy Tétrault LLP’s New York City office and co-head of the firm’s national Private Equity Group. He is also a partner in the firm’s M&A and Securities Groups. His practice focuses on private equity, public and private mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and corporate governance matters. Matthew is co-author of “Shareholder Remedies in Canada” (LexisNexis Canada, 2009), a leading text on shareholder remedies. Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault LLP, he clerked for the Honourable Mr. Justice John C. Major at the Supreme Court of Canada and practiced corporate and securities law at a leading New York-based international law firm.
