Melinda Park is a distinguished partner in BLG’s Securities and Capital Markets Group. She has made history as the first woman to serve as Chair of the Partnership Board at BLG, the firm’s highest governing body. Melinda brings invaluable experience from her six-year tenure on the Partnership Board and her leadership as the former regional group manager for the Corporate & Capital Markets Group in Calgary.

Specializing in securities and corporate law, Melinda focuses on securities, corporate finance, and commercial transactions. Her expertise is sought after by corporate clients for governance, mergers & acquisitions, going public initiatives in Canada, and various financing matters. Additionally, she provides strategic advice to boards of directors and committees across both public and private sectors.

Melinda holds an LLB from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 1992. Her contributions extend beyond her practice as she serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Acknowledged for her leadership and expertise, Melinda was honored with the Calgary Influential Women in Business award in 2021 and was included in the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award in 2017. Her notable achievements are further affirmed by her recognition in The Best Lawyers in Canada and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
