Mike Adlem is a distinguished litigation partner at Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office, renowned for his expertise in corporate commercial and insurance litigation. With a robust tenure as the past head of Gowling WLG’s insurance and professional liability group in Canada, Mike represents insurers, insureds, and self-insured organizations in a diverse array of litigation matters.

His practice spans across class actions, product liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, construction, financial services, competition, technology, professional errors and omissions, defamation, and medical as well as life and disability claims.

Mike’s leadership is exemplified through his roles as the former chairman of the national insurance law section of the Canadian Bar Association and the insurance law section of the BC branch of the Canadian Bar Association. Additionally, he has served the community as the honorary consul for the Czech Republic in BC.

Notably, Mike represents parties in two of the largest ongoing lawsuits in British Columbia. He provides defense for two tobacco companies in the BC health care cost recovery action and serves as national counsel to a bank in the Canadian credit card class actions, entangled in an alleged price-fixing conspiracy.
