Ron is extensively experienced in advising public and private companies, investment funds, and special committees on structuring M&A transactions, including both negotiated and unsolicited deals. Ron regularly advises clients on cross-border securities transactions and is well-known for his innovative, business-minded approach to solving complex problems while balancing legal precision with practical realities. Before joining FARRIS in 2000, Ron served as the corporate finance lawyer at the Vancouver office of the predecessor to the TSX Venture Exchange. He played a key role in the realignment of Canada’s stock exchanges, including the amalgamation of the Vancouver and Alberta stock exchanges, and provided critical securities law advice to both staff and executives.

Ronald G. Murray is recognized for his leadership in the legal community as a Past Chair of the Securities Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch) and as a former member of the Securities Law Advisory Committee (SLAC). He has contributed to policy development by advising the British Columbia Securities Commission on vital legal and regulatory issues.
