Legal Expertise

Steven acts as counsel for many Canadian Schedule I banks and other financial institutions in matters involving restructuring, security enforcement, recovery, and bond holder issues. He is known for representing lenders, landlords, municipalities, trade suppliers, and debtors in all areas of insolvency law including bankruptcy, proposals, reorganizations, enforcement of security, and protecting clients’ rights outside insolvency proceedings. Additionally, he advises private debt and equity investors regarding Canadian insolvencies and restructurings, and acts for professional advisory firms in their roles as monitor, trustee in bankruptcy, and receiver.

Steven is active in both asset-based lending and traditional cash flow lending on behalf of several leading institutional lenders.
