Susan E. Gunter

Susan Gunter, partner since 2002 at Dutton Brock LLP, holds an LLM in Civil Litigation (Osgoode), an LLB (UNB). She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996 and is recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada (Products Liability Law, Insurance Law and Personal Injury Litigation). Her litigation practice in defence of domestic and international corporations and insurers focuses on professional and products liability casualty and property claims and commercial litigation. She has appeared before federal and provincial tribunal, at all levels of court in Ontario and the Federal Court of Canada. Susan is a member of the peer-selected International Association of Defense Counsel, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and Association of Defense and Trial Attorneys. She served as president of Canadian Defence Lawyers, director of The Advocates’ Society, director of DRI – Voice of the Defense Bar and director of Canadian Defence Lawyers Foundation. Susan is the recipient of the Ontario Bar Association’s Joel Kuchar Award for Professionalism and Civility and of the Canadian Defence Lawyers Philippa G. Samworth Award for the Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession.
