Thomas C. Dart is a highly experienced family law lawyer and a leading authority in alternative dispute resolution in Ontario. As a Certified Specialist in Mediation (FDR Med) and Arbitration (FDR Arb), Tom brings decades of expertise to complex family disputes, helping clients find innovative and practical solutions both in and out of court.

Tom has represented clients at every level of Ontario’s courts, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He is a respected Arbitrator in family law matters and has helped numerous clients navigate the mediation process with successful resolutions.

A passionate legal educator, Tom has delivered presentations at continuing legal education seminars for the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Ontario and contributed numerous articles to seminars, newsletters, and periodicals. He is frequently engaged as an expert witness on the standard of care in family law and is a founding member of the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario.

Currently, Tom serves as a Dispute Resolution Officer at Barrie Family Court. His leadership roles include past presidencies of Family Mediation Canada, the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, and the Ontario Association for Family Mediation, as well as vice-president and president roles in Simcoe County’s legal community. Tom continues to advance dispute resolution practices and strengthen family law in Ontario.
