Will Boyer is a distinguished partner at Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office and leads the firm’s national IP litigation practice group. As an accomplished IP litigator, Will specializes in patent litigation, representing a diverse client base that ranges from global organizations to Canadian small- and medium-sized enterprises. His extensive litigation experience covers a broad spectrum of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, oil and gas, computer hardware and software, toys, and sports equipment.

Will has acted as counsel before both the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal, handling complex patent litigation and judicial review proceedings. His expertise also extends to trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, providing clients with comprehensive protection for their intellectual property assets.

Beyond the courtroom, Will offers strategic advice to pharmaceutical clients on regulatory law, data protection, patented medicine pricing, and matters such as the listing of patents on Health Canada’s Patent Register and obtaining certificates of supplementary protection. As a registered patent agent, he delivers end-to-end support for clients navigating the intricacies of IP law in Canada.
